Bridging Communities: A Celebration of Somali Culture

Bridging Communities: A Celebration of Somali Culture

You are invited to “Bridging Communities: A Celebration of Somali Culture” at the Northfield Public Library on Saturday, November 8th. Everyone is welcome to join us from 1:00-4:00 PM to celebrate, honor, and participate in vibrant traditions of Somali storytelling, singing, and dancing.

This event will bring Faribault and Northfield communities together through interactive dance workshops led by the Somali Museum of Minnesota Dance Troupe, a performance by the Faribault Middle School Choir, and a participatory sing-along of Somali songs. Interactive activities for all ages will include henna art and face painting, bilingual Somali storytelling, a scavenger hunt with prizes, and so much more.

Hosted by the Northfield Public Library in collaboration with Somali community partners and St. Olaf and Carleton College students, faculty, and staff. Absolutely everyone is welcome to attend and share the joy!
