POSTPONED Shorter Nonfiction for Shorter Memories: Extending the Reading Life of Loved Ones with Memory Loss

POSTPONED Shorter Nonfiction for Shorter Memories: Extending the Reading Life of Loved Ones with Memory Loss In-Person

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WINTER WEATHER. Please join us on the new date and time: December 22nd from 6-7 p.m.

How can a voracious reader with dementia continue to read? Catherine Friend faced this problem as her father’s Alzheimer’s interfered with his ability to read entire books. She solved this problem by writing nonfiction pieces short enough for him to handle.

Come hear Catherine’s story, and receive a free copy of her new book, Brief Encounters: Shorter Nonfiction for Shorter Memories to share with a loved one struggling with memory loss.

Catherine Friend is a fiscal year 2025 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
