Since moving to the United States thirty years ago from her native Chile, Cecilia Cornejo has documented her experiences through film, video, and extensive journal writing. In this talk, Cecilia will share the process of diving into her personal archives to create works that speak to the knotty, layered, and kaleidoscopic nature of the immigrant experience. She will also address the ebb and flow of artistic exploration and how these exploratory processes are vital for artists and their growth.

Desde su partida hacia los Estados Unidos desde Chile hace ya treinta años, Cecilia Cornejo ha registrado sus experiencias a través del cine, el video y la escritura. En esta charla, Cecilia compartirá el proceso de sumergirse en sus archivos personales para crear trabajos que hablan de lo enredosa, compleja y caleidoscópica naturaleza de la experiencia migratoria. Cecilia también abordará los ires y venires de la exploración artística haciendo hincapié en cómo los procesos exploratorios son fundamentales para el crecimiento artístico.
