West African Drum & Dance Workshop with Master Percussionist Ghana Mbaye In-Person
Ghana Mbaye, aka "Brother Ghana", was born in Senegal and moved to the U.S. in 2000 and brought his passion for music with him. He has become a master percussionist and performs regularly with many groups. In this vibrant class, participants will learn about his culture and drums such as the djembe, dun dun, sangba and kenkeni and will have a fun, hands-on experience playing them.
This program is made possible by the people of Minnesota through Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Library Legacy fund, in collaboration with our regional public library system, SELCO.
