Saving and Sharing Seeds for your Victory Garden
People garden for a variety of reasons, ranging from enjoyment to financial independence to just wanting to know where our food comes from. Whatever your reasons for working the soil, you can enrich the experience like your grandparents did by saving seeds! In this workshop you will learn how and when to harvest seeds, wet and dry techniques of saving seeds, proper storage techniques, and how to organize your community of local gardeners to share the abundance! We will discuss open pollinated seeds, isolation to maintain pure strains, and why seed saving is important to preserve genetic diversity in our food crops. Start your collection this season!
